Phases I and II

Phase I: Greggs bakery appointed Kinetic Engineers to oversee the M&E design of its new doughnut production line at its Longbenton factory in Newcastle.

This project involved the removal and relocation of ductwork and water and waste pipework to accommodate the revised floor layout of the factory. Kinetic also provided designs for new hot water plant and revised the HVAC system whilst ensuring it remained compatible with the existing BMS system.

All work was carried out within Greggs’ own company specifications as well as the appropriate legislation. Kinetic’s highly skilled engineers ensured all work was fully co-ordinated to allow the production line to reopen according to schedule.

Phase 2: A second reconfiguration of the factory floor again saw Greggs appoint Kinetic as M&E consultants.

Modifications were made to the existing water, compressed air and ventilation services to allow for the relocation of changing rooms and the installation of a new cleaning area. Modifications were also made to the electrical layout design due to further updates to the factory floor equipment.
